As 2022 rapidly draws to a close, Garden Patio Villa’s Board of Directors would like to highlight some of the accomplishments of our Homeowner’s Association (HOA).
Our mission is simple:
Maintain and upkeep our community, manage our finances, run our business affairs, and
in totality, increases our homeowners’ values.
2022 accomplishments at Garden Patio Villas include:
- Successfully brought a villa out of bankruptcy back to a dues paying Member of our community,
- Roadways were sealcoated to prevent unnecessary wear and premature replacement.
- The old water meters in each cluster were replaced by new meters from the City of Margate.
- The failed pool pump was replaced.
- Aged fire extinguishers were replaced for the safety of our Members.
- Ongoing repair or new replacement of sprinklers and sprinkler lines throughout the community as needed.
- Broken water pipe was immediately fixed for one of the clusters.
- Additional new hedges were planted on Lemon Tree to enhance the beauty of the community.
- Five villas sold in the community, property values increased for all Members.
- Continued to work to increase our reserve funds for solid financial responsibility to the community.
- Completed a reserve study to assess our reserve funding.
- Continued to improve communication for all Members through electronic consent.
- Continued to remove overgrowth of greenery to manage the look of our community and reduce nuisance pests
- Lights at the clubhouse were replaced with more efficient LED lighting. In addition, correcting electrical wiring brought up the City of Margate code.
- Continued to monitor the City Development Review Committee, and the Planning and Zoning Committee for any developments on the proposed golf course conversion to 200 townhomes. Also attended City Commission meetings for issues affecting our senior community.
- Applied for a City of Margate grant to help defray 50% costs of fence replacement on Margate Boulevard
- Unfortunately, we lost four members of the community this year. They are always remembered on our Garden Patio Villas website.
