Dear Commissioners,
I am the President and represent Garden Patio Villas Association that borders Margate Executive Golf Course. Our community is a neighborhood of 83 villas. (over 160 persons) Some owners are too elderly to walk or don’t get out much. In addition, quite a few do not own computers to voice their opinions.
All of our owners appreciate the green space from the golf course. The owners who can walk, appreciate the birds, the burrowing owls, the beautiful serene view, the quiet rejuvenating feeling from the green space, and watching families and friends golf. This green space is critical to our mental health and well being! During the last year, many have not left their home due to the pandemic.
Garden Patio Villas’ Owners ask that the City of Margate would hear our voices and take a stand for the seniors of Margate. Please consider this email in lieu of attending the City Commission meetings
That said, we voice our request:
We do not want the noise, the traffic, or the cars that would drive through our private neighborhood. We do not want to lose green space and wildlife! We purchased our retirement homes on the golf course for the peaceful, gorgeous view! In the last two years, the “Keep Margate Green” committee got over 2,100 signatures requesting the City of Margate to save our green space! Those who could go to the Commission meeting to voice their request did and wore their green shirts.
Please do not allow buildings to be built on this land!
In the 1970’s, the City of Margate wanted more green space and requested parks and golf courses to be built by developers. Please keep this green space that is still needed today!
The owner, Mike Fimiani, has been in contact with the City of Margate as well as with us and other neighboring communities in regards to the golf course.
