Our recreation area project started next to the pool, this month, October 2023! (This is right at the entrance off of Margate Blvd where the shuffleboard courts used to be.)
Members recently got to vote where they wanted the association’s credit card rewards fund to be applied. The biggest area voted on, was re-doing the old shuffleboard court recreation area into a nice place to sit with a gazebo and two benches.
Perfexion Construction came and filled in the two trenches with concrete to create a level surface for our new patio. Once this is completed, the patio will be power-washed and painted.
We hope you enjoy seeing our small steps to beautify our common area! Members here at Garden Patio Villas will be able to see the end of this project completed in 2024.

This notification is a reminder that garbage dumping is not allowed at Garden Patio Villas!
Please place garage bins out on Wednesday or Saturday. Bulk garage is only on Saturday. You should place the bulk items outside (in front of your own home) the night before since bulk items get picked up very early.

One time someone dumped a pile of garage on Poinsetta Way. Melodie, the President worked with Rafael in cleaning it up!! Thank you, Ralph Brandenburg!! We do not want our community in Garden Patio Villas looking this way again!

Thank you to Garden Patio Villas‘ residents who help by allowing us to put garage and recycle in their bins. If you see Ralph Brandenburg tell him “thank you” for his hard work and effort to keep our neighborhood clean!

For those who appreciate visual photos, the four photos show the mess and hard work done. Again, please respect our wonderful community, Garden Patio Villas and remember…NO GARAGE DUMPING ALLOWED!!!
If you have garage or bulk pickup, place it in the front of your villa for pickup and respect Common Area and the property of your neighbors. Thank you!!

Many times you hear people state how awful Homeowner’s Associations (HOAs) tend to be. Is living in a HOA worth it? A HOA can be viewed many times by people as a strict community. Why? Because people are comparing it to living in a single family home which does give you a lot more freedom to do as you want. People living in HOAs and single family homes have vastly different lifestyles.
Restrictions
Living in a HOA means you have restrictions that you would not have if living in a single family home. What’s the difference? There are Governing Documents which guide each HOA. There are also state laws which must be followed for condos and Homeowners Associations.
Here is a list of a few common rules seen in all HOAs:
Many times people find HOAs to be less expensive because they are smaller homes. People jump at purchasing because of the lower price without understanding the restrictions involved.
Who enjoys HOAs?
There are many people who love HOAs. Single people who are always on the go and don’t have time to take care of the grounds. Retired married couples who want to downsize want to live a simpler live and visit their grandchildren without worrying about their home. These types of people want to become Members of a HOA community because it makes their lives easier. They want to pay a fee for the Association to maintain the outside areas. Some people don’t like single family homes and prefer to live in a HOA or a condo to simplify their lives.
Is living in a HOA worth It?
Don’t make the mistake of choosing a condo or villa just because the price is less. If the home is in an Association community, you have a restricted deed! Research the rules BEFORE thinking about signing a contract. After reading the Rules and Governing Documents, you will know if living in a HOA is worth it for your type of living. We hope this article helps you choose the perfect home for you!
