Yes. HOA Board Members at Garden Patio Villas are Members of the Association just like everyone else. Serving on the Board does not exempt them from paying regular HOA dues, special assessments, or late fees.
At Garden Patio Villas, HOA fees and any special assessments are distributed equally among all villas, including those owned by Board Members. Board Members are responsible for paying the same fees and assessments as every other member of the Association.
Board Members are also required to follow the Association’s Governing Documents, Rules and Regulations and Florida Statutes 720 along with local and county rules. They do not receive special privileges or exemptions because of their position on the Board of Directors.
The primary goal of a HOA Board is to manage the daily affairs of the Association, maintain the common areas, enforce our Governing Documents, and make decisions that protect and enhance property values for the benefit of all Members.
Board Members have a duty to treat every Member of our Association fairly and consistently under the Association’s Governing Documents. The rules apply equally to everyone, and the Board must enforce those rules uniformly and require all Members, including Board Members themselves, to comply with them.
The Board’s duty is to serve the community and ensure that all Members of Garden Patio Villas are treated fairly, consistently, and in accordance with the Association’s Governing Documents.
