The history of the 9-hole golf course located in Margate, Florida was designed by Bill Dietsch and opened in 1982. Because it was adjacent to Garden Patio Villas, Members were offered memberships along with owning their property and could play any time. Golfing was very popular in the 70’s and 80’s.
Garden Patio Villas was surrounded by the family-friendly, 9-hole golf course. Many of the villas were directly beside it.
As the years went by, golfing became less popular. The green space was still beautiful for the surrounding communities and single family homes.
In 2021, the 9-hole golf course was closed and in 2023, the City of Margate approved two-story townhomes to be built.
